On Thursday night Digicel re-signed chart-topping reggae artiste and Digicel brand ambassador, I-Octane, for a second year running, at a ceremony at the Tracks and Records restaurant, Kingston.
The re-signing also coincided with the official launch of I-Octane’s debut album, Crying to theNation, which will be released on the VP Records label in January 2012.
In a release sent to THE STAR yesterday, Digicel’s Sponsorship and Activations Manager Shelly-Ann Curran is quoted as saying that the company was extremely proud to have re-signed I-Octane as a brand ambassador.
“His unique style of music mirrors the youthful vibrancy and positive energy that is Digicel – making the relationship between Digicel and I-Octane a seamless and fitting one,” Curran said.
She further said that Octane is an artiste who has raised the musical bar with uplifting andpositive songs since his entry into the music business and one who continues to represent the Digicel brand positively.
I-Octane also shared similar sentiments, echoing that being a brand ambassador for Digicel over the past year has been rewarding both on a professional and personal level.
“Being with Digicel has developed and further pushed the music behind the I-Octane brand; I have learnt a lot and the experience has moulded me into being a better person, while propelling my music and career to an entirely different level,” he said.
I-Octane has been creating waves in the music industry releasing hit after hit. His performances at Reggae Sumfest in both 2010 and 2011 have been widely hailed as two of the best performances from any artiste on dancehall night.
